In the sunny south-east corner of Ireland, driving through County Wexford from top to toe takes not much more than 60 minutes; and typically one can traverse the same geographical area from side to side in under 30 minutes. Travelling such comparatively short distances you will pass some of Irelands most unique and beautiful film locations – all within easy reach of excellent roads and modern infrastructure.
With a mild climate year round, Wexford is one of the driest counties in Ireland. Enjoying more hours of sunshine than any other, this only adds to the warmth of the welcome that visiting filmmakers receive.
Projects substantially produced in Wexford benefit from a financial contribution of up to 37% of qualifying budget spend through SECTION 481 – a tax credit designed to incentivise Irish film and TV, animation and creative documentary production through Ireland’s Department of Culture and the Revenue Commissioners.
In order to continue to build Ireland’s own rapidly expanding film and television industry, the Section 481 financial incentives are subject to specific training related requirements on which Screen Wexford can provide advice and assistance.
