Marlfield House Hotel
Features
Marlfield House Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel near Gorey north County Wexford, Ireland.
The hotel may be an ideal filming location for scenes that need an elegant hotel with a historic feel. The secluded hotel is a converted 19th century period house and the interior and exteriors are painstakingly decorated and maintained to be classic, elegant, and timeless.
The location has 26 bedrooms in total. There are 18 bedrooms in the main house and the other rooms are found in detached modern chalets, and a refurbished gate lodge cottage. The lavish rooms come with antique furniture, period artwork, luxury linens, and marble bathrooms. Additionally, certain suites in the house come with excellent views of the garden.
The hotel features two restaurants. The fine dining restaurant is situated in a Turner style conservatory and overlooks the main garden. And the casual dining room, called the Duck Terrace, is located in a restored coach house. Its walls are of exposed brick walls and it has a terrace that looks out over the kitchen garden of the hotel.
A hundred metre tree-lined driveway leads from the main road to the house. The location has 36 acres of gardens and woodland and the gardens feature decorative hedges, herb and flower beds, and a fairly large decorative pond. The forest has woodland walks and a tennis court. A peacock lives in the garden. The hotel is pet friendly and welcomes small and medium sized dogs. And as well as the suites, the house features a large drawing room. The resort often holds weddings in the drawing room, conservatory restaurant, or outside in the main garden.
The fourth Earl of Courtown built the house in 1850 while the house has operated as a hotel for over 40 years.
