New Ross Port
The Port of New Ross has a wide choice of facilities in three locations on both sides of the River Barrow at New Ross town.
The Port of New Ross in the South East of Ireland is the country’s only inland port. Located on both sides of the River Barrow, 32km from the sea via Waterford Estuary, New Ross offers importers and exporters an excellent range of facilities at competitive prices.
The Port of New Ross has a long history in handling , animal feedstuffs and fertiliser, cement, coal, timber, ore, steel and general cargo. Its inland location means cargo can be imported and exported close to where it is processed, reducing fuel costs for transporters.
Facilities available at the Port of New Ross include , two jetties owned by Stafford Shipping on the Western side of the river and a pontoon berth owned by Stokestown Port Services just below the Town of New Ross on the Eastern bank of the river. All three jetties have excellent access to the national road network. Connectivity has been greatly enhanced since the opening of the Rose Kennedy Fitzgerald Bridge in 2020.
New Ross Port is owned and operated by the Wexford County Council.
