Rosslare Europort

Features

Rosslare Europort is a large passenger ferry and freight port in Rosslare Harbour County Wexford.

The large port has facilities for both passengers and freight, and so may be a potential filming location for films that require passenger ferry scenes or for scenes set in industrial locations. The port is among the largest in the country and serves ships coming and going to the UK and Europe. It has a number of facilities that may be useful as filming locations, either on their own or as a group.

The port is served by large ferries and freight ships. These ships can often be seen harboured in the port. The port has 3 large berths for unloading large ships. And a separate fishermen’s quay for unloading bulk goods.

The port has two large warehouses and a number of smaller warehouses and storage sheds. It has an outdoor storage area for trailers that can hold up to 300 truck trailers and up to 2,000 trade vehicles. The port is frequently used for importing and exporting cars, so this outdoor storage often holds recently imported cars as well as transport trucks and vans. The port also has a single platform train station onsite. The station is the terminus of the Dublin-Rosslare line and has a old-fashioned turntable which is used occassionally for preserved steam engines.

The terminal building for passengers has a waiting area, concourse, and ferry operator check-in desks. The ferry terminal also has a large carpark.
