Shell Cottage

Features

The Shell Cottage is a unique 19th century thatched cottage at Cullenstown Strand on Wexford’s south coast.

The Shell Cottage is a quirky and unsual house that will make a memorable and unique shooting location for films. The exterior is decorated with over 50,000 sea shells that are arranged in a variety of beautiful motifs and nautical images. And a thatched roof furthers the unique charm of the building.

The nautically themed house is also ideally set across from Cullenstown Strand and has a view of the ocean from its front door. The cottage sits on a 6 metre tall embankment above the beach. A set of short stairs across the road from the house lead down to the beach. With no neighbouring buildings, the location stands out in its environment. And all this together means that the Shell Cottage is perfect as a quirky house location or as a memorable backdrop for scenes set by the sea.

The main cottage, a small shed, and a larger shed have shells decorating their exteriors. And a decorated outer wall encloses the three buildings and creates an inner yard. The location also has flower beds and a garden bench decorated with shells.
