Tacumshane Windmill
Features
Tacumshane Windmill is a 19th century windmill in south County Wexford.
The windmill may be an ideal filming location for industrial period scenes or for scenes that need an unusual location. The windmill is very unusual, and is intact, both inside and out. The interior contains gears, cranks, quern stones, and other machinery. The exterior of the building is thatched and whitewashed. The building is located on an enclosed patch of lawned ground and has a rural backdrop.
The mill was built in 1846. It was designated a national monument in 1952.
Please note that the windmill is set to remain stationary, so the blades on the outside and the machinery inside do not move.
