Wellingtonbridge Railway Station

Features

Wellingtonbridge Railway Station is a disused railway station in south County Wexford, Ireland.

The station has three buildings, including the main building and a signal cabin. The location is the only stop on the Rosslare-Waterford line that still retains its original structures. The buildings themselves are fairly well maintained and the station may work on screen as a period location. The main station building has its original corrugated-iron exterior and a timber board finished interior. The disused train station also has a well-preserved and ornate cast-iron footbridge from 1905.

The Great Southern and Western Railway originally opened the station in 1906. But the line between Rosslare and Waterford was closed to passenger traffic in 2010, and the station was closed. However, Iarnród Éireann still maintains the track. The former blockpost station has a passing loop and there is a level-crossing for car traffic near the station on the east side. A road borders the station on its south side and on its north side, a tall hedge hides the car park of a recycling centre from view.
