St Ibar’s Cemetery
Features
St Ibar’s Cemetery is a large graveyard near Wexford town, County Wexford, Ireland.
The large graveyard serves Wexford town, and so is one of the largest graveyards in County Wexford. The site may be an ideal filming location for scenes that need a large or imposing burial ground. The location has many impressive and aged graves. The graves are arranged in a grid pattern, with straight paths cutting the main part of graveyard into equal parcels. A statue diorama of the crucifiction marks the center of the site and acts as a landmark. A more recent extension to the grounds on the north side is cut into smaller parcels and is more densely utilized than the older and more central part of the site.
The property is on a gentle hill, meaning that it’s easy to frame the graves in such a way that there’s no horizon behind them. This gives the illusion that the cemetery extends far beyond where it actually stops.
