Rathnure
Rathnure (Irish: Ráth an Iúir) is a small village at the foot of the Blackstairs Mountains that is known for its GAA club.
Features
For films that feature Gaelic Game Association storilines, or ones need GAA locations, Rathnure has a lot to offer. St Anne’s GAA club in the village features an exceptional modern clubhouse, a well maintained outdoor pitch, and an indoor pitch. The GAA facilities are large and very well-equipped for a village of this size, and so may suit films set around rural GAA.
Additionally, Rathnure is a good village for filmmakers who need a village near the mountains. The location is at the foot of the Blackstairs Mountain. Views of the mountains can be seen just outside the village. The road through the village is winding and slightly sloped.
