Ethan Ryan Shadows on Set of Faithless

Screen Wexford congratulates Ethan Ryan, who recently completed a shadowing position on the second season of Baz Ashmawy’s Faithless. Ethan shadowed script supervisor Anna Hession and learned a lot about working on a set from her and the rest of the crew. Screen Wexford helped Ethan secure the placement with the production.

Ethan’s Story

“I really enjoyed my time shadowing Anna Hession, the script supervisor on Faithless in Bray. Anna immediately greeted me with a warm smile and was extremely helpful. She then introduced me to all of the crew who were super friendly and made me feel at home. Anna taught me a lot of helpful information about being a script supervisor, such as not crossing the 180° line and timing the scenes at home before the day of shooting. Anna also showed me how to use script supervising software on her tablet and advised me to bring lots of portable batteries. I learned that the script supervisor works closely with the Makeup Department as well as the Costume and Wardrobe Department to maintain continuity in their respective fields as the script supervisor has so much to keep track of.  I met with many of the actors, who were all incredibly kind to me, especially Baz, who very generously took a picture with me. Shortly after that I got to see the actors rehearse and block out a scene. I was surprised how little of the crew was in the room during this rehearsal so I it felt very special to be there and witness such professional actors at work. I concluded the day by watching the scene being shot where I got to sit beside Anna and Declan Recks the director which was amazing to see. Everyone was incredibly kind from beginning to end and they all personally said goodbye at the end of the day.”
