Cast and Crew Screening
We are delighted to be bringing together an exciting selection of short films created with the support of two Screen Wexford initiatives – the annual New Voices Short Film Fund and the quarterly Film Professional Development Fund.
On Thursday, 1st October, Wexford Arts Centre will host an evening celebrating the fantastic local filmmaking talent supported through these initiatives, giving cast and crew an opportunity to come together, celebrate their achievements and see their work on the big screen.
Please note that this is an invitation-only event and due to the venue’s capacity, we will not be able to accommodate walk-ins on the day.

About the Funds
New Voices Short Film Fund is an annual Screen Wexford initiative delivered in partnership with Wexford County Council Arts Office, providing financial and professional support to emerging filmmakers to bring original short film projects to life and amplify authentic voices and stories rooted in County Wexford.
Film Professional Development Fund is a quarterly bursary initiative supported by Screen Wexford in association with Wexford County Council Arts Office, providing funding to support local film professionals with professional development opportunities and the advancement of their filmmaking projects and careers.

i dtrípháirt is an Irish-language short film that follows three sisters as they navigate an unspoken grief, each in their own way, and together as a fragile harmony. While they struggle to cope with the emotional weight of their loss, they find solace in music and in each other’s company.
Ghost Tracks

Ghost Tracks is a psychological horror which has elements of supernatural horror in its storytelling. Snatched glimpses of darkly malevolent shapes and shadows, fleeting movements across the frame and even jump scares will all play a part, but at its core, the director wishes to convey a sense of growing dread, the uncanny feeling that the characters, and indeed the audience, are not alone in this apartment.

The New Voices Short Film Fund 2026 is a Screen Wexford initiative, delivered in partnership with County Wexford Arts Office and supported by Wexford County Council, Bodecii Film, and Film Equipment Hire. The fund provides financial and professional support to help bring original short films to life, supporting drama, documentary, animation, and experimental work while amplifying authentic voices and stories rooted in County Wexford.
Screen Wexford, in partnership with Wexford County Council Arts Office, is delighted to announce our Open Call for applications to the New Voices Short Film Short Film Award for 2026. This biannual film bursary is valued at €20,000 and its main aim is to provide funding and mentorship support to emerging filmmakers based in the County Wexford region.
We are looking for unique and original ideas from talented new filmmakers with authentic voices, telling diverse stories. These films can encompass any genre, including drama, animation, experimental art film or documentary.

We’re excited to announce that the Screen Wexford short film, Halted, is now available to view on Youtube.
Halted is a feel-good short documentary where four charismatic County Wexford Traveller people tell their personal stories and shed light onto the often overlooked aspects of Traveller culture. Local filmmakers Robert Tyrrell and Joanne Heffernan made the film in 2021/2022 with funding from our inaugural New Voices bursary, and with vital help from the Enniscorthy FDYS. Halted has finished its festival run, which included screenings at the Galway Film Fleadh, Catalyst International Film Festival, and the London Irish Film Festival. Halted was also a key film in Screen Wexford’s own Culture Night screening in 2022.

Short Film Fund for County Wexford
Applications for this award have now closed.
Screen Wexford, in partnership with Wexford County Council Arts Office, is delighted to announce our Open Call for applications to the New Voices Short Film Fund 2024. This short film fund will back a maximum of three short films, from a shared fund of €10,000. The films can be drama, animation, or documentary, and at least one of the creative team must be based in County Wexford.
