You are invited to join the talk with Mark Maher, WWETB Tutor and Odyssey Studios Founder, CEO on Friday, 5th April at 5pm at the County Hall of Wexford County Council. Mark will talk about his career and experience in the film industry, model making and the WWETB film course ‘Miniatures Model Making’ which is preparing scale model-makers for the Irish film industry. The concept model of Lake Town from The Hobbit movies is currently exhibited at the Wexford County Council foyer for public viewing, all of these models were produced by learners from the WWETB/Odyssey Studios Fantasy Miniature model making course.

About Mark Maher

Mark is the CEO, Founder and Creative Director at Odyssey Studios. He has brought 17 years of international experience in the industry as a Concept, Lead or Head Model Maker to Odyssey Studios which he started to bring world class model making to the world. His credits include The Hobbit (The Battle of the Five Armies, The Desolation of Smaug and An Unexpected Journey), Alice Through the Looking Glass, Penny Dreadful and Into the Badlands to name a few. He can be seen building miniature cities, spaceships, apes, aliens, zombies, dinosaurs and more.

The National Talent Academies is inviting expressions of interest for a potential Wexford-based cinematography course. The two day course would be hosted by Film & TV Crew Academy East and would be given by cinematographer Alba Fernandez. The ideal participant would be a cinematographer who has had some experience in short films, and who has either shot, or who will soon shoot, a funded short film.
